Organic Food: Small-Space Gardening Tips

Limited space is a thing that can easily destroy a gardener’s decision of growing plants indoors. Many people I know have told me that they would love to cherish and grow plants in their homes, but they gave up before even got started due to a lack of indoor space. I was shocked by the fact that a vast number of gardeners share this belief. That’s why I’ve decided to do a little research on my own and these small-space gardening tips is what I managed to find out when it comes to growing organic in confined spaces.

Love Your Window Sills and They Will Love You Back

Window sills are my favourite allies in a fight for getting more indoor space. They are easy to decorate and practical for growing plants on. Window sills are a perfect option for you to grow your
tomatoes, herbs, or lettuce hydroponically. When choosing which window sills are best suited for growing your veggies/fruits, go for the ones that get plenty of sun - preferably five to eight hours a day.

Indoor Vertical Garden Wall is a Kicker

You’ve probably heard of indoor vertical gardens or how people also use to call them - living green walls. Although they are the hottest trend in green design and gardening, the idea itself comes from a hundred years old science fiction concept. Variations of living green walls can be used for growing herbs and vegetables. In my opinion, this brilliant concept could be a great solution for an indoor organic garden.

Do it Yourself – Make Your Own Hanging Basket

Another clever idea for solving a space issue is to grow plants in a hanging basket. While doing that, you may as well add a design quality to the whole matter. There are numerous useful sites on the Net that can help you create stunning hanging baskets. Make sure to use a nutrient-rich, organic soil and to allow drainage.

Large Pots vs. Small Pots

No matter how small your garden space is, there’s always room for a couple of pots. The advantage of large pots lies in a possibility of growing various plants side by side. Naturally, small pots need less space.
