Welcome to the post
about arugula, a super nutritious green-leafy vegetable commonly known as salad
rocket or garden rocket. A big bowl of micro greens with a supersonic offer of
vitamins and minerals can hardly go by without having arugula as one of its
PR’s. Native to the Mediterranean region, arugula is one of my prime indoors planting
options and kitchen cooking choices. As for some tips about how to grow arugula
indoors, get yourself ready because here they come!
Arugula is an Excellent Source of Vitamins A, B, C and E
Tips for Growing Arugula
I always start by purchasing quality
arugula seeds. As with all my micro greens, once
I get the seeds I fill the pot to the top with potting mix and sprinkle the
seeds over it watching that they don’t touch each other.
My secret move hides in sieving a
thin layer of soil above the seeds. As soon as I’m done with that step, I place
the pot on a sunny windowsill and water it daily to keep the soil moist.
Arugula Will Skyrocket Your Health
One possible explanation for
arugula’s nickname is that it’s virtually packed with vitamins and minerals
such as vitamin A, B, C and K, plus minerals calcium, magnesium, potassium,
phosphorus, copper and iron.
Salad rocket also contains all
essential amino acids and is famous for its nutty, zesty flavor. In fact, arugula
is one of the most essential flavor additions to any sprout kitchen, and a major ingredient in
all of my mesclun and baby salad mixes.
Grow it. Eat it. Enjoy it!
