Remember the X-files series
and the agents Mulder & Scully? Their leitmotif was “we have the right to
know”. This is exactly what the human race is entitled to when it comes to GMO
foods. For that reason, we should all actively take part in the movement
against GMOs. It can easily turn out to be the most important fight of our
lives.
Maybe you didn’t know that
from 2012 until 2014 in four occasions ballot measures/props (under No. 37, 92,
105 and 522) were proposed in the US federal states of California, Washington,
Oregon, and Colorado in order to get labeling on foods containing genetically
modified organisms. Guess what happened? They were all rejected. As expected,
the most severe GMO labeling opponents were the exact same companies that used
sponsorship and donations to make the highest money contributions in GMO
labeling campaign.
A simple question arises here
all by itself: “If something is safe, why not label it with a warning”? Or ask even
a better one: “If something is safe, why should you label it with a warning”?
We’ve managed to get our hands on the list of sponsors of the above mentioned
US Anti-Labeling GMO Campaigns. Take a peek at the list of corporations that
stand behind some of the most
frequently used GMO grown foods – the “Big Five”.
